Thank you for your interest in Temple Beth Ami.  We are the only Reform Jewish congregation in the Santa Clarita Valley, and we have a lot to offer.

We are very proud of the "family feeling" in our congregation, and welcome you to join us any Friday evening for Shabbat services.

MISSION STATEMENT OF TEMPLE BETH AMI

The purpose of this Reform congregation shall be to worship God, to promote Jewish education and the fundamental principles of Judaism, to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people, to cultivate love, understanding and enjoyment of our Jewish heritage and to encourage community involvement.

RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS

Our worship services reflect the traditions of Reform Judaism.  We encourage the participation of all congregants, and we attempt at all times to teach the rituals as we practice them.  Children and youth are always welcome.

We conduct weekly Shabbat evening services.  We offer Saturday morning services and Torah study, conducted by our Rabbi. We also hold Saturday evening Havdalah services. This beautiful service is preceded by a picnic dinner and followed by a family education program revolving around a current holiday or Jewish issue.

We also offer Holiday and Festival observances, life-cycle celebrations (Bar/Bat Mitzvah, baby-namings, Confirmation, etc.).  We observe the High Holidays, build a Sukkah for Sukkot, dance with the Torah on Simchat Torah, hold a community Hanukkah party and a community Seder on Passover.

EDUCATION

We offer many educational programs and services.  For detailed information on our educational programs, please visit our Education page.

SISTERHOOD

Sisterhood is an organization of the women of our Congregation who have banded together in friendship for programs to benefit the Temple, for social activities, for study, and, above all, for the growth of the individual so that each may find an opportunity to fulfill her potential as a person and as a Jewish woman.  Sisterhood provides the arena for the individual to expand and grow in a Jewish atmosphere.  Sisterhood can do whatever its members feel would be valuable to them, their families, their Congregation and their community. Sisterhood needs the support of all of the women of the Congregation.  All of us, whether mother, daughter, sister, aunt, or wives who are members of Temple Beth Ami are needed as members of its Sisterhood.

SOCIAL ACTION

The membership of Temple Beth Ami strives toward the Jewish ideal of Tikkun Olam, repair of the world.

We hold an annual food collection drive during Yom Kippur to benefit local food banks.  We share the Hanukkah tradition of gift-giving by collecting toys at our Hanukah party and donating them to needy children.

We also support local social action programs in the Santa Clarita Valley, including active membership in the local Interfaith Council.

HAVURAH

Joining a Havurah is a way for temple members to get to know other members on a more personal and informal basis. Make new friends and find other families that have the same interests as you.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Our  MITZ-FUN CLUB  is for children 11-13 years old. This pre-B'nai Mitzvah group is dedicated to performing Mitzvot and having fun. Levels 3 and 4 Religious School students are encouraged to join.

Our Temple Youth Group,  TEEN AMI,  is for secondary school students grades 8-12. Social activities are held, such as field trips and sleep-overs, generally built around a Jewish theme, and frequently with other Temple's groups.  Social Action projects are also conducted with an eye toward improving the community.

DUES & FEES

Our dues and fees are based on the budgetary demands of our programs. Our aim is to make Jewish life and Jewish education affordable to every member of our community. No one has ever been turned away from our programs because of financial limitations. Please see the Membership Application for current dues and fees.
